“On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us by your prayers. Then, many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” 2 Corinthians 1:10b-11

July 2010
Dear Prayer Partners – Greetings from Glennallen, Alaska!
We are continuing to see God’s hand at work around us as we are receiving much from Him on a moment-by-moment basis. Your prayers for us and our ministry at Alaska Bible College are being heard! Join with us regarding the following thanksgivings and requests:
Praises
- Another year at Alaska Bible College was celebrated at Graduation 2010.
- Bob’s 89-year-old father is in rehabilitation from successful hip replacement surgery on June 23rd.
- After going south to Arizona for his dad’s surgery, Bob has returned safely to Glennallen after much travel and a reunion with part of his family.
- Our 17-year-old nephew Colin Wendt (from AZ) has come to work on wood gathering and wood splitting for the winter.
- Jane continues to make s-s-s-s-l-l-l-l-o-o-o-o-w-w-w-w progress in her mental process and development of coping skills.
- Daniel is in Alaska for the summer working with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as a returnee laborer; his job and his presence here with us is enlightening and fun!
Requests
- Join us as we pray for multiple opportunities to reconnect with Daniel as prepares for his sophomore year at Messiah College; he is slotted to be a resident assistant upon his return.
- Jane’s health issues related to recovery from her injury (24 months ago!) continue to cause fatigue and discouragement; ask that the Lord will continue to give her energy as well as restore many of her brain pathways while reducing her chronic pain.
- Alaska Bible College is considering a variety of changes that will enhance and strengthen the school; pray for wisdom and much grace for Bob as he serves as a member of the Administrative Team.
- May the Lord continue to use our community connections to God’s glory!
- Even though our regular monthly support continues to fall short, God is still providing for our needs; pray that our financial support increases and that we will make wise decisions with the issues that need to be addressed.
Thank you so much for continuing to keep us in your prayers. “On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” –2 Corinthians1:10b-11

Urgent Prayer Request
Dear Prayer Partners,
On Saturday one of our ABC professors, Gene Horst was cleaning his chimney and fell from the roof. He sustained a fractured skull, 2 broken vertebrae in his neck and other facial fractures. He was medivac'd by plane and is currently in ICU in Anchorage. He is in serious condition and, along with his wife Pam and son Tim, could use your fervent prayers. Pray that pneumonia will not set in, infection will be stayed, wisdom for the Doctors, peace and grace for Pam and Tim (this family has had a tough year medically). Praises that there is a good support system around them from Glennallen and SEND and the students at ABC have responded with concern and desire to support them.

February 2010
As we continue to learn more and more about trusting God with all of the details of our lives, we wanted to share the following items with you as you support us through your prayers:
Praises:
- Thank God for overseeing all of the miles traveled by us and the Alaska Bible College family throughout the last two months. The total number of miles traveled is staggering!
- Praise God for how He has worked in Daniel’s world at Messiah College during the fall semester; Daniel was also able to connect with his high school friends during his short time back in Alaska.
- Thank God for the time we shared with Daniel and Nate (Granja – from our home church) during the two weeks we had with them while they were on their Christmas breaks!
- Thank the Lord for how He is directing brain recovery in Jane as she continues to see her world expand as He (figuratively speaking) pulls back more and more of the curtain to reveal much of what is on the stage. Emotionally, she is advancing through middle-school years which is a bit tumultuous; cognitively, she is also continuing to progress.
- Praise God for placing Bob right where he is needed most – about 200 yards away from our house – as he interacts with ABC students at critical times in their lives.
- Thank the Lord for moments of joy that He provides!
Prayer Requests
- Ask the Lord to provide amazing comfort and grace for the ABC students impacted by the sudden, unexpected death of two very close friends who were murdered while ministering; ask Him also to work among the many others impacted by such a painful loss.
- Continue to ask God to work MIGHTILY through our weaknesses as we abide in Christ and thus bear fruit for the Kingdom.
- Ask God to continue to heal and wake up brain cells so Jane’s chronic pain decreases.
- Pray for the college students who are working on their SMT (student ministry training) programs; ask God to develop hearts for ministry in them as they learn skills while closely supervised.
- Continue to ask God to help us come along side people who battle patterns of alcohol abuse and suicide; join us as we pray that they will makes choices that will allow them to pursue deep relationships with Christ.
Once again, we are greatly humbled by your prayers. If you haven’t sent us a recent photo (you know who you are!), PLEASE send us one for our flip chart so we can see you as we pray for YOU!
